Cornell Law School (Ithaca, NY)

Cornell Law Outreach Program (private)

The Cornell Law School Outreach Program is designed to assist high-potential undergraduate students from racial and ethnic groups that are underrepresented in the legal profession and students from disadvantaged backgrounds with preparation for admission to law school. Students must be in their freshman or sophomore year of college in order to apply for the program. The program's objective is to support students with their decision to become lawyers by helping them acquire the skills necessary for competing in the law school admission process and succeeding in law school. The program runs from February 4–March 17, 2017.

University of Pennsylvania Law School (Philadelphia, PA)

Penn Law Outreach Program (private)

The Penn Law Outreach Program is designed to assist high-potential undergraduate students from ethnically diverse, first-generation college, or disadvantaged backgrounds with their preparation for admission to law school. Students must be enrolled with sophomore, junior, or senior status in a greater Philadelphia-area college when they apply to the program. (NOTE: Seniors may only apply if they have not yet applied to any law school and will not apply to any law school until after September 2017.)

The program’s objective is to help students acquire the skills necessary for

  • successful completion of the bachelor’s degree,
  • competitive performance on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), and
  • successful entry into law school.

This program begins in the spring semester of the 2016–2017 academic year and concludes with the participant’s completion of a “JD Action Plan” and application to law school. Participation requires a one-semester commitment during the spring 2017 semester. Attendance is mandatory in ALL classes and presentations.

NOTE: Applications are due January 20, 2017.

Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University (New York, NY)

Discover Law Youth Day (private)

Discover Law Youth Day provides high school and early college students with a sense of the law school experience and reduces the mystery or sense of unattainability. Participants will have an opportunity to meet lawyers, law professors, law school admission counselors, career service representatives, and current law students.
