The purpose of this event is to both celebrate and encourage diversity in the law profession by providing useful information about the study and practice of law to minority students who have historically been underrepresented in the legal field. In preparation of educating students about law school and the legal profession, The University of Tulsa College of Law has established and maintains long-standing partnerships within the Tulsa community and with LSAC’s DiscoverLaw.org initiative. Diverse students from numerous high schools within the Tulsa area are invited to participate and attend. The schedule of activities includes a guest speaker, a mock sports negotiation, lunch with local minority lawyers and law students, a meeting with a prominent judge, and tours of both the Tulsa County Courthouse and the Conner & Winters Law Firm in downtown Tulsa. We value the opportunity to build and cultivate relationships with minority students interested in pursuing a career in law and hope the information provided at this event will prepare them for the future.

The day-long program consists of a welcome session, greeting from the dean, tour of the school, meeting with BLSA mentors, and a mock class. In addition, there will be a panel discussion with active members from our legal community. We will end the session with a look into a moot court practice session.
