The Consortium of Georgia Law Schools invites you to an exciting evening of exploration to a career path in law. This collaborative event is designed to provide diverse students early in their college careers an opportunity to learn more about law school, the admission process, and legal careers.

The Florida State University College of Law (Tallahassee, FL)

2nd Annual Diversity Initiative

Date: Friday, February 24, 2017
Time: 8:00 am–2:00 pm
Location: Florida State University College of Law

The students will be separated into groups. One group will go to the Supreme Court for a moot argument and a tour while the other group goes to Leon County Court for a mock trial and a tour. Travel will be done in a luxury bus. The students will travel back to FSU College of Law where they will take a tour of the law school and hear from a law student about the application and acceptance process. After the tour, they will have lunch with local judges and attorneys in the community, and end the day with prizes and evaluations.

Law Exploration Day

Students will explore law as a career and learn detailed information about the admission process. Students will meet and interact with current law students and local attorneys.

The University of Florida Levin College of Law is proud to host DiscoverLaw Day, which invites diverse students to engage with current law students, faculty, admission professionals, and legal practitioners to learn more about the path to law school.

This collaborative outreach event is designed to give students early in their high school and college careers an opportunity that will address social and legal awareness, motivation, and preparation for law school.

The day will feature an overview of the program and its benefits and offerings to students; a brief overview of law school admission; lunch with current law students, professors, and alumni; and an interactive seminar on a current issue.

2017 Minority Youth Pre-Law Conference (private)

Stetson Law’s 2017 Minority Youth Pre-Law Conference is an opportunity for diverse high school students from the Tampa Bay, Florida, area to interact with Stetson Law students, professors, alumni, and admission officers with similar backgrounds. Participants will learn about the importance of being an advocate and explore the pathways to a legal career along with the need for and significance of diversity in the field. They will also have the opportunity to participate in an engaging mock trial and case analysis exercises.
